Fillo Painting Contractor Inc. began as a small painting company based in Woodstock, GA. The spark that launched the company came from Jose Blanco, the founder of Fillo Painting.

Jose immigrated to this country, like many others, with only the money in his pocket and ambitions to reach the American Dream. He found work as a painter’s helper and began his journey in the painting industry. He met his devoted wife, and together, against all odds, they raised six kids with the desire to give them a better life and built one for themselves.

Through diligence and an eagerness to learn, he worked as a house painter for many years to provide for his growing family. His hard work paid off, and he quickly worked his way up from a painter’s helper to the Production Manager of a company he helped grow to over 100 painters!

With six children to provide for and two already in college, he invited Jay Blanco, his eldest son, who was studying business at Kennesaw State University, to use what he was learning in school along with Jose’s years of experience, and their combined work ethic and determination, to help him start a painting company!

What followed were several years of quick expansion as the marketing campaigns, customer referrals, and sound business principles began to pay off. Remarkably, in less than three years, Fillo Painting went from a fledgling start-up with $30,000 in debt to the premier painting and home improvements company in the local area and now a licensed general contractor, grossing more than $1M in its second year.

Jose Blanco has since passed on, leaving behind his memory as a hardworking man who provided for his family and the company that he wanted to be his legacy to continue forward. It is now in the capable hands of his sons, with no greater desire than for it to become a lasting and enduring success.

Now, with over a decade of being a successful painting company, Fillo Painting & Exteriors stands as a monument to his memory, with the goal of bringing the same determination and hard work that built it to every endeavor that will follow.
